One day I was browsing around the craft store and spotted these glass ornaments and the idea popped into my head...
Oh I could make mercury glass ornaments...
I tweaked my neck & back on Sunday moving furniture..story of my life! So on Monday I took it easy and decided to make a bazillion cuts using my Silhouette Cameo for several projects coming up. As I was making cuts another "bright" idea sparked...
I started out with plain glass ornaments..
Looking glass spray paint, gold metallic spray paint, water bottle, and a few snowflakes cut out from my Silhouette.
I hung up my ornaments on a string so that I could work all sides...
Some I made just plain mercury glass...
With the plain ones I wanted a little gold to show through. So I first sprayed them with Metallic Gold paint. I first sprayed water & then sprayed them with the gold spray paint. Used a paper towel and blotted them while they were still wet. I sprayed more water, and then the looking glass spray paint.
Gorgeous!!!
The larger ones I added (bright idea here) the snowflakes...
I made a couple of cuts on my Silhouette of a couple of different snowflakes.
I attached them to my glass ornaments. And, then using the exact same method as above, I created the mercury glass look.
Originally my plan was to use spray glitter, but I loved how the others came out so much that I said I have to do the same!!
It almost has a gold leaf type of look prior to spraying the looking glass...I even loved that look and will be creating some to have that look as well.
So easy. And, if you don't have a Silhouette to make cuts you can use any type of stickers that have adhesive backs.
I love how beautiful they turned out!! They will be stocked at my booth location soon. And...the Friday after Thanksgiving the store is having a Black Friday sale - 20% off items more than $20.
With much love, peace and happiness
