Weekly round-up on Fern Avenue....

It's been a whirlwind week.

If you follow me on facebook, I posted about my recent run in with a nasty thing called GERD.  I've written about it before, but unfortunately I've had no luck in finding a good place.

I am working with a GI specialist that can preform a series of more in depth testing.  I am also looking into some all natural sources.  I want to find the best possible solution for myself & for my family.  There is a ton of information that I can share here & will be doing soon.  I hope with all of the research, information, and when I find answers to feel better (because I will...I don't give up easily), I will be able to bring my wealth of knowledge here to help someone else.

In the meantime...

I have a back log of projects & posts to bring to you...  I promise they are coming.  Here is what I've been up to, and what I will be bringing to you in the days to come!!

I know I pushing it, but I was out shopping & looking at this lovely item to add to my Christmas wishlist!  Too much to ask for!?!

I need a workshop...

See above picture?  The one that I have on my Christmas list!?!  Yeah that one... These pictures are why it is on my list!

We went picking and scored some really great reclaimed barnwood.  I am hoping to get more information on the building.  I do know it was at one time a 1700s barn turned into a dance hall.  I would drive by this building often (it's on my way to Hobby Lobby...), and I always wondered what would happen to it.  It was leaning & looked as if it could come down at any time!

I've been working on some fall artwork for my booth.  I will be posting more about this project.  I love barnwood, and with the help of an amazing product from Rust-Oleum I was able to achieve a faux look.  It was super simple & I transformed some pretty ugly, old, worn out looking frames into beautiful & fresh looking!

I will be posting the before & after of the Empire Buffet.  It was a truly tired & worn out piece that now looks just stunning!!  I am in absolute head over heels in love with it.  If I had a place for it, I am not sure it would be sitting in this space!

I've been working hard on finishing up some smalls, and some larger pieces for my booth at Newburgh Vintage Emporium.

My girl loves to cook & bake...  We decided to make the 2 ingredient pumpkin muffins that have been floating around on facebook.  They were so fast & easy to make.  I will say they are also super yummy!  I had one this morning for my breakfast!

Have you noticed the change in my blog?  Isn't it lovely?  Crisp, clean, simplified, and easy to navigate!  I have been busy working on getting it put back together after the install.

Elle with Girl On Fire designs did an amazing job!  She nailed it when I told her what I was looking for.  I am pretty tech savvy, but I leave the coding & building of a website to the professionals....I know my limits.

I missed taking you on a trip Tuesday... I will be taking you to one of my favorites on next Tuesday, and can't wait to show you some great finds.

A little peek...

To say this last week has been a little busy is an understatement.  But, it is all in the way life rolls at On Fern Avenue.

I hope you all had a wonderful week, and the weekend is full of fun & happy times!

With much love, peace & happiness

  1. I love all that painted furniture!

  2. Your booth looks wonderful.. I could do damage there. I love the 2 ingredient muffins recipe.

  3. I'm not a baker but two ingredient pumpkin muffins, I'll have to try. Sounds super easy. I need to look that recipe up. Beautiful furniture!
